Itinerary
Day 1 :
We begin this splendid itinerary with Rio, always unmissable.
Stages: Rio de Janeiro
Welcome to Brazil! One of our drivers will be waiting for you inside the arrivals hall with a sign with your name on it. You'll be transferred to your hotel in Rio, already catching glimpses of the Christ statue and Sugarloaf Mountain. Your first day is free to explore the city and unwind from the journey. If your flight arrives early in the morning, a tour can be arranged on your first day. Book in advance. Accommodation: Standard hotel.
Day 2 :
The most exciting tour in the world among the wonders of Rio and its surreal landscapes
Stages: Rio de Janeiro
Today you'll experience a truly Carioca-style day discovering Rio's icons. You'll visit Christ the Redeemer, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, atop Corcovado, and climb Sugarloaf Mountain to admire one of the most spectacular views of the city. During the tour, you'll pass by Maracanã Stadium, the Arcos da Lapa, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Sambadrome, a symbol of the city's famous Carnival. You'll also climb the colorful Selarón Steps. This private tour, with a guide speaking your language, is designed to avoid rush hour and allow you to experience the attractions at your own pace. A buffet lunch is included, along with free time at the end of the day. Accommodation: Standard hotel
Day 3 :
Domestic flight to Bonito and accommodation at your pousada
Stages: Bonito
Today, you'll leave Rio for Bonito on a flight to Campo Grande. Private transfer to Bonito. Welcome to Brazil's ecotourism capital. The city of Bonito is charming. After a rest, you can head downtown. The Bonito Winter Festival is held in Praça da Liberdade. Here, you can take photos with the sculptures in the giant piraputanga fountains, created by artist Cleir. The public telephones here are also true sculptures, as most of them depict Pantanal animals. The most famous are the jaguar and the toucan. Accommodation: Standard pousada
Day 4 :
Buraco das Araras and floating on the Rio da Prata
Stages: Rio da Prata
To admire the region's wildlife, we begin at the Buraco das Araras, one of the largest sinkholes (depressions in the ground) in the world, home to native macaws (about 120 have been recorded). A true crater in the cerrado terrain, it is approximately 100 meters deep and has a circumference of 500 meters. The tour includes an easy 970-meter trail and is always done in a group. You will then continue to the Rio da Prata Floating, covering a distance of approximately 1,700 meters, to the confluence of the Olho D'Água and Prata rivers. Finally, you will float 500 meters on the Rio da Prata to the stone bridge: this last stretch can be done by boat. Accommodation: Standard pousada
Day 5 :
Pantanal: the largest wetland in the world
Stages: Aquidauana, Pantanal Matogrossense National Park
Today, your bilingual guide will pick you up at the Bonito pousada and escort you to check-in at your pousada in the southern Pantanal. Numerous wildlife exploration activities await you. During your stay at the pousada, you can take two tours per day, choosing from the following options: horseback riding, a boat trip on the Aquidauana River, a photo safari, hiking, a kayak tour, fishing, or a carriage ride. Each tour lasts approximately two hours and all are accompanied by local guides. Tours are scheduled once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Accommodation: Standard pousada
Day 6 :
Wildlife Watching Tour in the Pantanal
Stages: Pantanal Matogrossense National Park
Explore the Aquidauana River and all the beauty and exuberance of its riparian forest, with its ancient trees—a natural habitat for birds, mammals, and reptiles that shelter on its banks—or simply enjoy the sounds and songs of the birds. This boat trip lasts 2 to 2.5 hours. The photo safari allows you to reach regions further from the farm, crossing diverse vegetation types such as fields, savannah, flooded areas, and waterways. It offers a broad view of the landscape and allows you to observe a greater diversity of regional fauna. Accommodation: Standard pousada.
Day 7 :
Activities for everyone: on horseback, on foot, by boat or safari
Stages: Pantanal Matogrossense National Park
All tours take you through unique landscapes, but horseback riding is one of the Pantanal's main attractions, as it's the best way to experience this ecosystem. Crossing open fields, marshes, caápaõs, mountain ranges, streams, and bays, we encounter a rich variety of exuberant flora and fauna, typical of a well-preserved region. The horses are calm, meaning even those who have never ridden a horse before can enjoy this ride. There are several trails, varying in length, that can be traveled during both the high and dry seasons, always accompanied by expert local guides. Accommodation: standard pousada
Day 8 :
Arrival in Salvador de Bahia, the beating heart of Brazilian culture
Stages: Salvador
A private transfer of approximately 3.5 hours (200 km, the last 54 km on a dirt road) from Pousada Aguapé to Campo Grande, where you'll be waiting at the airport for a connecting flight to Salvador. Airport pickup and transfer to your hotel. Accommodation: Standard hotel.
Day 9 :
Exploring Salvador: From Pelourinho to the Lower City
Stages: Historic Center (Salvador)
Today you'll discover Salvador, Brazil's first capital, with a fascinating tour of history, culture, and scenery. The day begins with a stroll through the historic center of Pelourinho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, among cobbled streets, colorful buildings, and splendid baroque churches. With your guide, you'll visit iconic sites such as the Jorge Amado Foundation and the Lacerda Elevator, overlooking the Bay of All Saints. Next, a panoramic tour of the city: the Senhor do Bonfim Church, Monte Serrat Fort, traditional markets, and the Mercado Modelo, ending in the Barra neighborhood with its iconic lighthouse and Santo Antônio Fort. Accommodation: Standard hotel
Day 10 :
Tour to a quilombola community
Stages: Salvador
Today, you'll depart Salvador for an excursion into the countryside north of the city (approximately 1 hour's drive) to visit a quilombola community, founded by the descendants of escaped slaves during the colonial period. Welcomed by the community, you'll discover Afro-Brazilian traditions, spirituality, and history. Depending on the weather, you can take a short nature walk to a sacred lake or participate in cultural activities. Together with the locals, you'll prepare a dessert and enjoy a lunch of typical local dishes. In the afternoon, you'll experience traditional music and dance with a samba de roda experience, featuring singing, drumming, and guided steps. Accommodation: Standard hotel
Day 11: 13 :
From the charm of Salvador to the relaxation of Morro de São Paulo, a car-free paradise.
Stages: Morro de São Paulo
Today, a driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the port of Salvador. You'll board the shared catamaran; however, if the Navy prohibits catamarans from crossing due to rough seas, you'll take a longer semi-land transfer to Morro de São Paulo. Upon arrival, you can ask a gentleman with a cart (for a donation) to help you carry your luggage to your pousada, as there are no cars from the pier to the hotel. So, you'll walk the rest of the way. Free days to relax. Accommodation: Standard pousada
Day 14 :
Time to go home, until the next adventure, Brazil!
Stages: Deputy Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport
Today, your international flight home awaits you. You'll leave this country with a heart full of wonder and warmth... with a desire to return and explore even more! You'll arrive at the Morro pier at the scheduled time for the return catamaran. Your driver will pick you up at the port upon arrival from Morro and take you to the airport.
